Your Safety Comes First

As your safety is most important we would ask that you read the following guidelines as well as accepting the Terms and Conditions of hire which you will be asked to complete prior to hire.

  1. We have two and three seater Canoes available. Children under the age of 4 are not allowed in Canoes. Max Capacity is 350 kgs.
  2. Age to hire is 18.
  3. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  4. Kayaks are available for the more experienced Paddler, please provide proof of experience prior to hire. Suitable proof such as Certificates or Paddle club card.
  5. Buoyancy aids which are provided must be wore at all times while in the Canoe/Kayak.
  6. Fishing on the Forth & Clyde requires a permit which can be obtained on site.

In addition:

  • Wear suitable clothing,  Trainers/Flipflops or similar are suitable along with comfortable clothing such as T shirt and shorts. A waterproof is always a good idea. Sun cream is also advisable. As the weather can be unpredictable we advise you have a change of clothing with you.  
  • Food and Drinks. Its a good idea to come prepared, there are limited drinks and snacks available to buy, a cool box is a good idea and there is ample room in the Canoes.
  • Avoid bringing valuable watches, cameras, jewelery etc if they are not waterproof. OutdoorTrax can not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to any of your effects.
  • Please dispose of any rubbish on your return in the bins provided on site. Follow the countryside code.
  • The Forth & Clyde offers a scenic paddle however you have to watch out for boating activity and keep to the right on the water when required.
  • Dogs are allowed in the Canoes, however they should not be tied down at any time while in to canoe and should not present a risk to passengers.
